Overall Site Marketing Grader

Website Grader is a SEO tool that measures the marketing effectiveness of a website. It will give you a score on your website traffic, SEO, social popularity, some other technical factors plus some basic advice on marketing improvements.  You can use the report as a benchmark for future changes to your site.

Copywriting Focus Checker

When writing about a company, product or service we need to remember that the customer wants to know WIIFM (What’s in it for me?)  Our content needs to show  how our company, product or service meets our customers’ wants and needs. Go check out your wewe score on your blog, website, text or ad copy with the Customer Focus Calculator.

Site Eye Trackers

Feng-GUI is a pretty cool piece of online software that will generate heat maps of your site (you need to upload a screenshot) emulating eye tracking during the first few seconds of your website view.

Scrutinizer is another eye-tracking simulator that you can download for free during their beta testing. The Scrutinizer web browser will give you an indication how users interact with your site design. You’ll have to register with your e-mail to get the download instructions.

Social Media Measurement Tool

Webbed-O-Meter is a social media and word of mouth measurement tool. The developers call it, “a buzz barometer of the good, the bad and the ugly in terms of the content which is currently promoting your brand.”

Content Readability Analyzers

Juicy Studio is a site readability analyzer. It provides your Gunning Fog Index, Flesch Reading Ease, Flesch-Kincaid grade level and Reading Level with explanations of each term plus where your site should be on the results scale.

Textalyser is an online text analysis tool. When you write for the web sometimes you need to know how many times you’ve used certain keywords and phrases.

The Blog Readability Test is an online tool. It will calculate the grade level needed to read your blog and it will give you a “badge” you can display on your blog showing the grade level it scored.

Online readability score.  Just paste in your text and hit “Process Text”  button to find out the Fleshe Kincaid Grade Level, ARI (Automated Readability Index),  SMOG  (Simple Measurement of Gobbledygook) and it provides suggestions to improve your rating.

More tools can be found at one of my favorite sites FutureNow.

And just for fun; Typealyzer tells you the personality behind the blog.

Let me know what tools you use to improve your writing, website or blog.
